Special Summer Reception

On Sunday, July 23, 2023, we had the privilege to honor our beloved Founder, Jennifer Carson, and to introduce Eloise Ghrist, our Executive Director.   Fred Smith likened Jennifer’s perseverance and endurance in the face of trials to being like the gradual revealing of a batholith formed after a sudden invasion and intrusion from volcanic activity.  It is “what remains when everything else has been removed and you are left with an irreducible core”.  He shared this out of “admiration for Jennifer Carson because he thinks of her and her family as one that discovered through an event that intruded into their lives what that core was and what endures.”   “What remains and endures is love and that never ends.” It is evident in the way she has thoughtfully created everything we do with The Children’s Park.    Like Fred, we all “want to thank Jennifer for giving [all of us] the privilege of being a part of her long obedience in the same direction.”   This reception was a beautiful way “to thank her for enduring and persevering personally and spiritually in a world that is anything but enchanted.”

Thank you for serving The Children’s Park of Tyler for 20+ years, Jennifer Carson.   We hope to make you proud and continue with the vision of comforting families mourning the loss of a child by helping them process and find purpose through their grief.
